Introduction

At Coppergate Serviced Accommodation we recognise the importance of protecting our environment and are committed to operating in a way that reduces our ecological impact. Our dedication to sustainability is demonstrated through continuous improvements across all aspects of our business. We are proud to have earned the ECOsmart certification, which reflects our efforts to meet recognised environmental standards.

Our Commitments

1. Energy Efficiency
   • We actively monitor and reduce energy consumption by using energy-efficient lighting, appliances, and smart systems to minimise waste. [Add specific example of technology used, e.g., LED lighting in all common areas.]

   • We aim to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible. We work with local waste management partners to ensure our recycling practices are efficient and impactful. Our maintenance teams ensure our green waste is taken to the appropriate sites for recycling
   • Our property strives to minimise single-use plastics and opts for compostable or recyclable alternatives whenever possible.
4. Sustainable Procurement
   • We prioritise working with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. Whenever possible, we source locally to reduce the carbon footprint of our products. The majority of  our laundry is done in-house using eco products and reducing our carbon footprint
5. Community Engagement
   • We support local communities by partnering with sustainable local businesses and participating in community programmes. When we purchased the furniture for every box which was taken away for recycling a tree was also planted on our behalf. It’s the little things which make the difference
   • Our sustainability efforts extend to our guests, whom we encourage to adopt eco-friendly habits during their stay.
6. Carbon Footprint Reduction
   • We regularly assess our carbon emissions and seek opportunities to minimise them through energy-efficient operations
   • Our partnership with the Greengage ECOsmart programme helps us identify new ways to reduce our environmental impact.

ECOsmart Certification

We are honoured to be ECOsmart certified by Greengage, a recognition that assures our guests and clients of our high sustainability standards. ECOsmart certification means that our hotel/venue has met stringent criteria, including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and responsible sourcing.

Our Future Goals

• Continue reducing our overall energy usage by 10% over the next three years.
• Implement more renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, on our property.
• Expand partnerships with local sustainable suppliers and enhance guest engagement in our environmental initiatives.

Guest Participation

We believe sustainability is a joint effort. We encourage our guests to join us in our efforts by:

• Participating in our towel and linen reuse programmes.
• Utilising the recycling bins provided in guest rooms and meeting areas.
